Your connected accounts and your data
When you connect a TikTok, Instagram, Facebook Page or YouTube account, Appleak publishes the posts you schedule and reads their numbers — nothing else. Connect or disconnect in Studio → Calendar → Accounts.
What Appleak does with a connected account
- Publishes only the posts you schedule, at the time you pick, with the settings you pick — or sends them to your TikTok inbox for you to finish.
- Reads your own posts’ numbers (views, likes, comments, shares, saves, watch time) to judge your experiments against your usual, and to learn your best posting times.
- Reads your audience by country where the platform gives it (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube), to show whether you’re reaching the markets you target.
- When you link an account to an app, imports that account’s recent posts, so “your usual” includes what you post outside Appleak.
What it never does
- It never likes, follows, comments, replies, messages or watches anything on your behalf, and never “warms up” an account.
- It never uses bots, engagement pods, bought followers or views, fake or duplicate accounts, VPNs, or any trick that fakes where you are.
- It never posts anything you didn’t schedule, and never adds another platform’s watermark: every platform gets the original file you uploaded.
- It never shows your tokens to anyone — you included — and never sells or shares your data.
The permissions it asks for, and why
TikTok
- user.info.basic — Your TikTok nickname and profile picture, to show which account you’re posting to.
- video.publish — Post the videos and photo posts you schedule, with the settings you choose.
- video.upload — Send a post to your TikTok inbox, for you to finish and post in the app.
- video.list — Read the views, likes, comments and shares of your own posts.
- instagram_business_basic — Your professional account’s name, username and profile picture.
- instagram_business_content_publish — Publish the Reels, carousels, photos and Stories you schedule.

- pages_read_engagement — Read your Page posts’ numbers.
- pages_manage_posts — Publish and schedule the posts you create in Appleak.
- pages_manage_engagement — Required by Facebook to publish on a Page. Appleak never comments, replies or reacts with it.

- publish_video — Publish the videos and Reels you schedule.
YouTube
- youtube.upload — Upload the Shorts and videos you schedule.
- youtube.readonly — Read your channel’s name and your videos’ views, likes and comments.
- yt-analytics.readonly — Read watch time, the share of each video watched, and views by country.
How it’s kept
- Access tokens are encrypted before they’re stored: each with its own key, itself encrypted by a separate key that is never stored with your data (Google Cloud KMS in production). Only the publishing worker can open one, for one call, and tokens never appear in logs.
- Appleak keeps the account’s id, name, handle and picture; your posts’ ids, links and numbers; and the media you upload, in private storage, sent only to the platforms you post to.
- Numbers are the platforms’ own. Appleak never estimates or fills in a number a platform didn’t return.
Disconnecting and deleting
Disconnecting an account revokes Appleak’s access where the platform allows it, then deletes the account’s tokens, the audience numbers read from it, the posts imported from it and their numbers. Posts you made in Appleak stay, unlinked. Deleting your Appleak account deletes all of it.
